Signs of Life on Mars

do álbum “Miscelânea” de 2018

Late at night, here we are
Under the moon and the stars
And while we wonder, although so far
We search for signs of life on Mars

In a Martian dust storm, we´ll find a trace
A trace of life in distant, ancient days
Hoping to find hope in another place
Far away from here, in space

There in space life´s rare
Here there is life ev´rywhere
But we destroy it, don´t even care
As we go seek for life elsewhere

In a Martian dust storm, we´ll find a trace
A trace of life in distant, ancient days
Hoping to find hope in another place
Far away from here, in space

Black hole and dark matter:
Who´ll shed light on that matter?
Galaxies spreading more and more…
Universe in expansion
Is like a big big dance or
A question without answer:
What´s beyond and what was there
Before the Cosmos big-banged?
Did it need a god to plan it?
What if life came from the red planet?
We are the cosmic conscience
Of the world known.
Looking for life.
Got lots of water,
Methane, nitrogen, ozone.
We are nothing and we´re everything
Before the great unknown.

After we know what there is
In the Martian subsurface
There will be other mysteries
Newer and bigger than this

Will we see the world at its birth
As a time machine in reverse?
Are there other planets like the Earth
Or are we alone in the universe?
